Looking for something to do this upcoming week? Here’s our Community Round-Up!

Kenosha County:

*Looking for a fun movie night? Look no further than Movies Under the Stars! Nash School, 6801 99th Ave. in Kenosha on August 5th at Dusk, come join the fun and watch Tomorrowland. This event is FREE and family friendly!

*Take a walk back in time and visit the Pike River Rendezvous from August 6-7. Step back in time to the Fur Trade Era with over 300 reenactors, when Native Americans and fur traders gathered to exchange goods and services on Pike River. This FREE event is family friendly at 5001 Simmons Island Dr. in Kenosha!

Waukesha County:

*Gather your family and friends and come on down and relax, grab a bite to eat, listen to some music and see what Friday Night Live has to offer! The streets of downtown Waukesha are closed from 6:30-9 p.m. on August 5. Great free event with 10 stages hosted by local businesses!

*This August 7 come join the Kids Dream summer film series at Marcus Hillside, Delafield, Majestic, Menomonee Falls or the Ridge Cinema to see The Lego Movie for only $3 at 10 a.m.!

Walworth County:

*Ride on down to the 31st Annual Summer Elkhorn Swap Meet & Car Show at the Walworth County Fairgrounds on August 6 from 6 a.m.-4 p.m. Come browse over 90 acres for classics, collectibles and parts to find that special piece for your collection. The show features more than 1,100 vendor spaces and hundreds of cars for sale.

*Welcome to the Social Paddle! Come to Clear Water Outdoor in Lake Geneva from 7:45-10 a.m. on August 7 for fun morning paddles on beautiful Geneva Lake! All paddle abilities are welcome. Rental reservations are required, be sure to note the craft you would like to use for this event. If you have your own boat or board, just meet us at the store to check in and we will see you on the water!

Sheboygan County:

*Do you love brats? Then Brat Days presented by the Sheboygan Jaycees is for you! Come feast on a brat like never before including brat taco, brat pizza, brat egg rolls, brat jambalaya, corndog brats and of course the traditional double brat. Saturday features activities that are fun for the whole family including the Brat Trot run, a huge parade, brat-eating contest, a petting zoo and carnival rides. It’s on August 5-6 in the Kiwanis Park in Sheboygan.

*Vroom vroom! IRA 410 Sprint Cars are back at our third-mile oval dirt track auto-racing facility with two supporting divisions: 360 Sprints and Micro Sprints. See it all on August 6 at 4:30 p.m. at the Sheboygan County Fair Park. Adults $20, Children five and under FREE.

Ozaukee County:

*Come one, come all to the 157th Ozaukee County Fair! It’s one of the last free fairs in the Midwest. Great traditional fair entertainment such as five stages of live music, truck & tractor pulls, a full midway, fireworks, demolition derbies, horse shows, contests, livestock exhibitions & judging, kids entertainment and more! August 3-7!

*Haven’t seen Inside Out yet? Here’s your chance!  The film will be shown at dusk Friday, Aug. 5, at the bandshell in Veterans Memorial Park in Port Washington. Bring a blanket or chair. Admission is free, and concessions will be available for purchase

Racine County:

*View the SC Johnson Gallery: At Home with Frank Lloyd Wright! The exhibit explores the relationship between the architect and the company. The exhibit will include never-before-seen renderings and artifacts. It’s on August 5-7 at Fortaleza Hall, 1525 Howe St., Racine. The exhibit is free but reservations are required. 262-260-2154.

* Join this annual celebration of Mexican heritage on August 6 at Caledonia-Mount Pleasant Memorial Park, 9614 Northwestern Ave. (Hwy. K), Franksville. Food, entertainment and family fun! Live Tejano and mariiachi bands, ballet, folkloric dancers, bingo and raffles. Admission is $5 advance; $8 at the gate for adults; $5 for children ages 6 through 12. Children ages 5 and younger free.

Milwaukee County:

*Hop on the Milwaukee Trolley Loop on August 6 in Downtown Milwaukee. 30-stop route for just $1! Both out-of-town guests and residents can board the “Hop ‘n Shop, Wine ‘n Dine” route to be on the fast track to museums, shops, festivals and other downtown events.

*Check out the newest traveling exhibit at Discovery World on August 5-7 in Milwaukee! Zoom into Nano is a fun and incredibly interactive traveling exhibit for the whole family that focuses on how nanotechnologists and engineers build with things that are way, way too small to see.

Jefferson County:

*Need some summer reading? Head over to the Amundson Center at 200 Spring St. in Cambridge from August 5-6 for the Cambridge Friends of the Library Used Book Sale! Great bargains on a large selection of used books!

*We all scream for ice cream! Enjoy the First Brigade Band concert as you enjoy a relaxing afternoon with ice cream and other goodies while touring the Historic Octagon House and beautiful grounds where you can see the first U.S. Kindergarten building. The Octagon House Ice Cream Social is on August 7 from 10-4 p.m. at 919 Charles St. in Watertown!
